How’d he do the smog check in December with the CEL on (for obviously a long time)...??
Here in colorado, a CEL is an automatic fail at the emissions check.....

no, that tape was just covering up the fuel gauge. you never even use it in a civic, kinda like blinkers on a bmw.....

What this car is priced at and what it’s actually worth is a lot like the current GPU market.

It’s not a CEL. It’s brakes and ABS. California, like Colorado only does emissions testing, not safety testing, so it’s not impossible that it did actually pass.

Ah, that’s better! Thanks.
Ok, so something’s up with the ABS, maybe like a wheel sensor or something. As for the brake lamp, well that might just be indicating that the parking brake is set. (Then again, the tape seems to have been positioned a little off-center from the ABS lamp, so the owner may indeed have been trying to cover both, for whatever reason...)

I had an old Cadillac that would randomly light the CEL, didn’t seem to affect anything, so I did the old electrical tape trick. Out of sight, out of mind.

Only in the few counties that do emissions
